BTC 2026 Application Date For Higher Certificate In Theology:

• The Higher Certificate in Theology (HCTh) provides students with a solid biblical and theological foundation for lay ministry within the local church. Students are introduced to the various fields of ministry and gain insights that are contextually relevant to Southern Africa. This programme can be completed over one year or at your own pace. Apply to this course at BTC at any time of the year.

Once you are accepted, the finance department will provide you with a quotation, followed by an invoice and regular statements. Your total study fees, minus the R5000 upfront payment, must be paid in two instalments: 50% two months after the start of your studies, with the remaining balance due two months later. The finance department will provide a detailed explanation of this payment schedule.

Follow the steps below to apply for admission into the Baptist Theological College Of Southern Africa:

• Bachelor of Theology Honours (BTh Hons)

Decide how you want to complete your studies:

• For the BBib or BTh programs, you can choose between Contact Study at our Randburg campus or Distance (Self) Study. If you choose Distance Study, you will receive course materials and a list of required textbooks.
• Short videos from the course lecturer will also be available to help with your studies. Please note that there are no in-person lectures for Distance Study.
• The Certificate Programs and Master of Theology are offered only through Distance Study.

Decide when you want to start studying:

• If you are enrolling for the Certificate of Ministry, Certificate of Theology, or Master of Theology, you can register at any time and begin your studies shortly after registration.
• For the BBib or BTh programs, you will need to register before the start of the next semester, which begins in February or mid-July.

Create your Student Profile and Register:

• Set up your student profile on the BTC Nexsis portal and follow the steps to register. You will need to pay a R200 registration fee and have documents (e.g., ID, Matric Certificate) ready to submit.
• If you need to pause your application, you can return to complete it later.

Wait for Acceptance into the Program:

• If you meet the requirements, you will receive an acceptance letter. Afterwards, you will need to pay a R5000 upfront fee to cover your registration, technology fee, and part of your study costs.
• You will also receive instructions on how to select your courses.

Make Payment and Choose Your Courses:

• Pay the fee into the BTC bank account or through the Yoco Online Payment Link, then complete your course selection on the Nexis Portal.

Receive your BTC ‘Welcome Pack:

• You will receive a BTC Welcome Pack, which includes your BTC Office365 account.
• This account gives you access to Schoology for course materials, EBSCO for articles and course books, and the MS Office suite.
• The pack also contains important information and tutorials to help you with your studies at BTC.
