SU (Stellenbosch University) offers prospective students the option to apply either online or through a paper-based application. Along with the completed application form, applicants must submit all required documentation. SU online application for the 2026-2027 academic year will open on 1 April 2025 and close on 31 July 2025 for undergraduate programmes and residence applications. Documents Needed for SU Online Application 2026-2027

Provide the following supporting documents:

• Final school-leaving results
• Repeating/Upgrading or Re-mark results
• Official proof of registration from the tertiary institution
• Full academic transcript for each academic year completed
• Final Grade 11 or 12 assessment results for South African students
• Pre-final (Grade 11) or final-year results with levels/percentages received from the issuing body (foreign students)

Basic admission requirements for Stellenbosch University study 2026

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Independent Examinations Board (IEB) school-leaving certificate as certified by Umalusi for admission to bachelor’s degree studies
• Except for School of Tomorrow matriculants and applicants for programmes in the Faculty of Law, the University does not require National Benchmark Tests (NBTs) for admission to programmes in 2025.

How to Apply Stellenbosch University Application 2026-2027

Apply Online by following the steps below:

• Go to SUN University website: www.sun.ac.za
• Select your language version (Afrikaans/English)
• At the top menu, click on the “Students” tab
• Choose your qualification level (Undergraduate/Postgraduate, etc).
• Click on the “Application Portal” link as seen on the screen
• Create an online profile for your application.
• Select your option and proceed to the next step
• Enter your information in the online application form
• Make sure you enter the correct details to be approved
• Click on “Create” to complete your profile

To track your application status and to ensure there is no outstanding information, use your username (e-mail address) or Application ID and your password to log in to the Applicant Portal.
