Documents Needed for University of Free State Online Application 2026-2027

Please, provide the following supporting documents during your application to UFS:

• Your ID if you are a South African citizen.
• ƒYour passport if you are an international student.
• ƒYour parent’s/guardian’s ID or passport if you are younger than 18.
• Final Grade 11 results or the equivalent thereof with the school’s stamp.
• ƒYour mid-year Grade 12 results or the equivalent thereof.
• ƒGrade 12 certificate or the equivalent thereof if you have already matriculated.
• A certificate of conduct and an official study record from the previous tertiary institution
• An academic record, only if you are/were a student at another accredited institution of higher learning

University of Free State Admission Requirements 2026-2027

Meet the following UFS General minimum admission requirements for the 2026 academic year before applying to study any programme or qualification:

• ƒLanguage of instruction on Level 3 (40%) for all options.
• ƒFour subjects on Level 3 (40%-49%), excluding Life Orientation.
• In some programmes, the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) is compulsory for selection
• Level 4 (50%) is required for English Home Language or English First Additional Language.
• A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or National Certificate: Vocational (NCV) Level 4, and an AP of 18.

How to Apply online at University of Free State (UFS) 2026-2027

University of Free State (UFS) Online Application for 2026 is easy and simple. Follow the steps below:

1. Visit UFS website at www.ufs.ac.za
2. Click on “Study@UFS” tab on menu of the page
3. At the top menu, point the cursor on “Apply” tab
4. Click on the “Online Application” link
5. UFS online application portal will be open
6. Carefully read the application instructions before you start
7. Scroll down and click on “New Application” button
8. Select your first Academic Study Choice/qualification
9. Answer whether you are applying as an International Student
10. Select your Matriculation year to proceed. Ensure that your choice is accurate
11. Continue to fill out the online application form with your details
12. Upload all required supporting documents.
13. Complete and Submit your application for evaluation.

PLEASE NOTE: Make sure that your documents are scanned copies. If you don’t complete your online application form, you will not be able to proceed to the next level and your application won’t be processed. You must also pay the online application fee to process your application on time.
