How Do I View My UWC Application Status 2026-2027?
To check the status of your application:
- Visit student.uwc.ac.za
- Click the APPLICATION STATUS button.
- Enter your SA ID or Passport Number along with your UWC Application Number
- Click Submit.
You will see the list of programmes you have applied for and their current status. Statuses are updated automatically in real-time as decisions are made. You will also receive an email notification if your status changes.

My UWC Application Was Declined, What Should I Do?
Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into a programme. With over 70,000 applications for just over 4,500 spaces, competition is intense.
If your application is declined, you can:
- Reach out to the Central Application Clearing House (CACH) by sending a standard SMS with your full name (first and last name) and ID number to 31629, or sign up online at cach.dhet.gov.za.

How Do I Accept/ Decline the University of the Western Cape Application Offer?
If your application status shows OFFER PENDING and/or you receive an email confirming an offer has been made, you must ACCEPT the offer within 3 days from the date the letter was issued and your status updated on the portal.
To accept the offer:
- Visit student.uwc.ac.za and click on the STUDY OFFER button.
- Enter your SA ID or Passport Number, along with your UWC Application Number, then click Submit.
- You will then have the option to ACCEPT or DECLINE the offer.
Once you confirm your selection, you will receive a confirmation email with further registration details. Please note, that offers are not transferable.
